Brodie Kokkinos is a Melbourne based conceptual artist working across moving image, photography, installation and performance.
Her practice examines contemporary image culture and the production of visual desire, with a focus on how cinematic, commercial and digital imagery shapes perception. Working with staged environments, looping video and photographic compositions, she constructs tightly controlled visual systems that reimagine the slippery, seductive power of such popular imagery in alternative timelines and circumstances.
Drawing from archives of film, fashion, advertising and online media, Kokkinos reconfigures familiar visual languages into compositions that feel both recognisable and unsettled. Her work holds images in a state of suspension, where meaning is continually shifted through form, structure and presentation.
